Between two shapes is a useful result. Compare both descriptions; the detector's matching bars are rule-based scores, not calibrated probabilities.
These drawings isolate the outline. They are schematic comparisons, not scans or templates every face must match. Styling ideas below are optional visual choices, not rules about what you should look like.
Longer than wide, with gently tapering sides and a rounded chin.
A relatively short, broad outline with curved cheeks and chin.
A broad jaw and more angular lower outline, with similar upper and lower widths.
The upper face is broader and the outline narrows toward the chin.
Cheeks appear widest, with a narrower forehead and lower jaw.
A noticeably longer outline, often with relatively straight sides.
A long chin beard adds visible length. Full sides add visible width. Those are changes in the silhouette, so distinguish “my face looks longer with this beard” from “my measured face is oblong.” A photo detector cannot reliably recover a jaw boundary hidden by dense hair.
Check bridge comfort, overall frame width and how the frame sits on your face before choosing a shape. Angular frames can repeat an angular outline; curved frames can contrast with it. Both are styling choices. There is no one frame shape required by your result.

A beard may hide the jaw boundary and hair can hide the temples. The detector estimates a hairline from facial landmarks rather than locating your actual hairline, so its length ratio is approximate. Do not shave just for a test; compare what is visible and treat uncertain results as uncertain.
Naming systems vary. Symmi's detector compares oval, round, square, heart, diamond and oblong. Some guides add triangle for a jaw wider than the upper face. This detector does not have a triangle category, so a jaw-dominant outline may not fit its labels closely.
This guide does not rank face shapes. The labels describe an outline, and the styling suggestions are options for changing its visual emphasis. Your preferences, hair texture, growth pattern and comfort matter too.
Camera distance, head turn, expression, hair coverage and estimated landmark positions can change the proportions in a photo. Compare straight-on images taken with the same setup; a different label does not establish that your anatomy changed.
