The gonial angle is the angle at the corner of your jaw, and the number looksmaxxing forums use for a sharp jawline. Upload one true side photo: your profile is traced automatically, the jaw corner is found, and your gonial angle is measured and drawn on your photo, together with your chin projection and the other profile angles.

How it is measured
The gonial angle sits between two lines: the back edge of the jaw running up toward the ear (the ramus) and the lower border of the jaw running forward to the chin. On a side photo the tool traces your outline, places a point at the jaw corner, one up the back of the jaw and one under the chin, and measures the angle between them. Bone sits under muscle and skin, so this soft-tissue angle is approximate; every point can be dragged if hair or a beard hides the jaw.

What's normal
On soft tissue in side photos, jaw angles often fall around 115 to 130 degrees:
Head tilt changes the angle: chin down lowers it, chin up raises it. Keep your head level and compare photos taken the same way.

FAQ
The angle at the corner of the jaw, between the back edge of the jaw (toward the ear) and its lower border (toward the chin). A lower angle reads as a sharper, more angular jaw; a higher one as softer.
Upload a true side photo above. The tool traces your profile, finds the jaw corner and measures the angle, drawn on your photo. Drag a point if the jaw is hidden by hair or a beard.
Forums often aim for about 120 degrees or lower for a sharp jaw. On soft tissue most people measure around 115 to 130 degrees. It is one reading: chin projection and jaw width shape the look as much.
The bone angle does not change without surgery. What changes how it reads is soft tissue: lower body fat, less puffiness under the jaw and better neck posture all make the jaw corner show more clearly.
On average men tend to have a slightly lower, more angular jaw angle, but the ranges overlap a lot. The tool uses the same bands for everyone.
