How it is measured
The same definitions the thread uses.
Every ratio is computed the way the forum defines it: pupil centres for the eye span, alar base for nose width, the widest cheekbone points for face width, the mouth corners at rest, stomion for the lip split. Head roll is removed first. The hairline is estimated from the forehead landmarks, so the lower-to-full-face ratio is the softest number on the list.
- ESR
- Pupil-to-pupil distance over cheekbone width. Forum ideal 0.45 to 0.47. No published study sets this range.
- EME angle
- The angle at the mouth centre between lines to each pupil. Forum ideal 47 to 50 degrees. Convention.
- Chin to philtrum
- Stomion-to-chin height over nose-base-to-lip-top height. The original thread says 2.0 to 2.25; the replies argue up to 3.
- Jaw to cheekbone
- Bigonial over bizygomatic width. The thread's 1.35 the other way round was disputed in its own replies; 0.85 to 0.95 is the value most people settled on.
- Profile-only ratios
- Gonial angle and cervicomental angle need a side view. The app measures them on the 3D scan; a front photo cannot.

Are these ratios scientific?+
Three of them have literature behind them: fWHR, canthal tilt and the cervicomental angle. The rest are conventions that circulate on forums. The tool shows the forum ideal next to each reading and says plainly where no study exists.
Why do my numbers differ from what I measured on a screenshot?+
A ruler on a screenshot picks landmarks by eye and ignores head roll. The tool places 478 points, removes roll, and uses the same landmark every time, so two photos of the same face agree with each other.
Can I change these ratios?+
Width ratios are bone and do not move in adults. Lip ratio moves with expression and posture. Chin-to-philtrum and lower-face ratios shift with the head tilt in the photo. Fat under the chin changes what the jaw line reads as. The app tracks the same numbers across rescans.
What is the ratio sheet?+
After the scan you can save a one-image summary of all thirteen readings to post or keep. It is drawn in your browser from the numbers on screen.
