How it is measured
A small hair segmentation model (under 1 MB) marks how likely each pixel is to be hair. The recolor takes hue and saturation from the shade and shifts the hair's lightness toward the shade's, so highlights, shadows and strands stay where they were. The edge blends with the model's confidence, so flyaways fade rather than cut off.

Busy backgrounds close to your hair color, hats and strong backlight confuse the hair model. A plain background and even light give the cleanest edge.
